VICTORIA’S GLORIOUS GARDENS PACKAGE

Victoria, BC: Spring is a time of renewal, and slowing down to take in the blossoms is just what Victoria’s Historic Inns are prescribing. This collection of eight unique inns has teamed up with some of Victoria’s most famous gardens to offer a spring and summer Glorious Gardens package. Spend two nights in Victoria at the inn of choice and receive entry to three of the city’s iconic gardens: Butchart Gardens, Glendale Gardens and Abkhazi Gardens, and take home a basket of gardener’s goodies.

The Glorious Gardens Package is sure to put a spring in your step as you explore the display of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths in spring, or the summer rose garden at The Butchart Gardens, a National Historic Site. Glendale Gardens and Woodland boasts 43 hectares (106 acres) to explore including a magnificent rhododendron garden and a serene Takata Japanese Garden. A visit to the exquisite one-acre Abkhazi Gardens, created in 1946 by Prince and Princess Abkhazi, invites an escape from modern life with its majestic trees and dramatic site. Each garden invites the visitor to leave behind the daily grind for a while and to succumb to a little spring fever.

The Glorious Gardens Package is available from April 15 to September 30, 2010. Rates begin at $134.00 CAD per person midweek and $143.00 on weekends in spring (April 15 – June 14), and $188.00 CAD per person in summer (June 15 - September 30), based on double occupancy. (Summer rates remain the same for weekdays and weekends.) The package includes two nights accommodation with breakfast and afternoon treats, entrance for two people to three of Victoria’s gardens, and a takeaway gift of gardener’s goodies. Room rates vary for each inn.
