A CORNUCOPIA OF CULINARY CELEBRATIONS FOR THE SUMMER PALATE
ST. MORITZ, June, 2009 – This summer Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s four restaurants are offering culinary highlights for every taste: choose from the Chef’s Table in the kitchen, the Gourmet Safari or Swiss specialities.
A little of everything
On July 4th, 2009, the „Gourmet Safari“ offers an expedition through the multitude of culinary delights that is Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. Aperitif in „Le Grand Hall“, risotto in the wine cellar followed by dinner in „Le Restaurant“. For the grand finale Chef de Patisserie, Stefan Gerber, serves dessert in the Palace Patisserie. The Gourmet Safari begins at 7.30pm and costs CHF 190.00 per person, including beverages.
Vive la France:
Frédéric Breuil, Executive Chef of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel and patriotic Frenchman, celebrates his own National Holiday, July 14th, 2009, a long way from home with culinary fireworks at the Chef’s Table in the heart of the hotel’s kitchens. As well as experiencing exquisite dishes, this event offers the unforgettable opportunity to watch and speak to all the chefs while they work. Guests are likely to pick up on a few tips and tricks to use at home. It all begins at 7.30pm and costs CHF 170.00 per person, including beverages.
Typically Swiss
Switzerland gets festive on August 1st, 2009. It is the Swiss National Holiday, which commemorates the merging of the ancient regional cantons and thus the founding of Switzerland. This event is also celebrated in style in Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. The Executive Chef serves Swiss specialities in „Le Restaurant“ which is accompanied by a band playing traditional Alpine music, known as „Huusmusig.“ The cost is CHF 120.00 per person, excluding beverages.
Time for Tea, and more
Every afternoon traditional English high tea is served in „Le Grand Hall“– the so-called living room of St. Moritz. Guests can choose from a variety of 38 fine teas and are served sandwiches, scones and pastries with a glass of champagne.
The “Pizzeria Heuboden” in Chesa Veglia serves up a taste of Italy and the best authentic oven-baked pizzas in St. Moritz in a cosy, rustic atmosphere.
Guests can choose International and Swiss dishes in the “Patrizier Stuben” restaurant in Chesa Veglia or on its splendid summer terrace. There is nowhere better to take an afternoon coffee with cake and an unrivalled view.
Did you know…? In 2008 Chesa Veglia was awarded a “Special Mention” in the Historic Hotel of the Year Awards, by ICOMOS, the International Council on Monuments & Sites.
