Wintery Highlights in the Champagne Climate of St. Moritz: Legendary and Lifestyle Event

ST. MORITZ, SWITZERLAND – Winter in St. Moritz once again offers a great variety of exquisite events, and Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, the Grande Dame of St. Moritz, traditionally acts as the perfect host this winter season, setting its exclusive stage for numerous events.

Twinkling Lights around the Christmas Tree
Heralding in the festive season, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel invites its guests and the residents of St. Moritz to the traditional lighting of the Christmas Tree at 6pm on 6th December 2009. Both the splendidly decorated tree in front of the hotel and also the Christmas lights along Via Serlas, are ceremoniously lit to the accompaniment of Christmas music, mulled wine and traditional Christmas cakes and pastries – not forgetting a visit from Santa Claus himself, St. Nicolas.

Sparkles of Joy
This winter high-class jewellers and watch manufacturers are holding exclusive exhibitions within Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. Before and during the festive period Chopard, Sabbadini and De Grisogono will show their latest collections. The shops of the Palace Galerie on Via Serlas, the smallest luxury shopping mile in the world, are perfect for magical last minute presents for Christmas, Valentine’s Day or Easter.

The Night of All Nights at Badrutt’s Palace Hotel
On New Year’s Eve Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is transformed into the Folies Palace. Guests will be transported back to Bohemian Paris at the turn of the Century. Spectacular decorations and breathtaking performers guarantee a fascinating world where reality and fantasy mingle. Reservations by phone on Tel.: +41 (0) 81 837 2662 or by email: nye@badruttspalace.com

Safe on the Road
Time to combine the fun of driving with safety. Every Saturday and Sunday in January and February 2010, Badrutt’s Palace Hotel is offering its guests a professional driving safety training. The training is best undertaken in the guest’s own car, however a car can of course be hired for this purpose if required.

And they’re off …
Horse related sports have a long-standing tradition in St. Moritz and a firm place in the annual events calendar. The prestigious 26th St. Moritz Polo World Cup on Snow from 28th to 31st January 2010 brings spectators a sport full of strength, elegance, speed, pride and traditional British sportsmanship. Every year under the magnificent mountain backdrop on the frozen Lake St. Moritz four teams battle it out for the coveted Cartier trophy.

In February 2010 on the Sundays of 7th, 14th and 21st White Turf promises some exhilarating horse racing with thoroughbreds from all over Europe carrying jockeys sporting the colours of prestigious stables around the flattest racecourse in the world. The Grand Prix of St. Moritz is announced as a European championship on snow and rates as the race with the highest prize money in Switzerland. The Badrutt’s Palace Hotel’s Bedouin Tent offers first class service on the frozen lake with caviar, smoked salmon and a champagne bar.

Easter Treats for all ages
Easter is celebrated at the Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in a very traditional way. On Good Friday the French Chef de Cuisine serves French fish soup and other fish specialities in both “Le Restaurant” and “Le Bistro.” On Easter Day an egg hunt is held in the hotel for the little ones after the Easter Brunch.
