MASQUERAVE: ANTICIPATION BUILDS AS CHEFS AND
WINE MAKERS PREP FOR THE PARTY OF THE YEAR
WHISTLER, BC, CANADA, November 7, 2011 -- With only five days to go until Whistler’s much-awaited party of the year, chefs across the country are putting the finishing touches to their menus, while wine makers are chilling the Pinot and crating up the Cabs. Masquerave, the celebrated extravaganza hosted by Bearfoot Bistro, has been reborn after a five-year hiatus. One of the hottest tickets of Cornucopia, Whistler’s annual food and wine festival, Masquerave has raised the bar this year with the participation of ten Canadian chefs to lend their creativity to the evening. Proceeds from the event go to ONE DROP, an initiative of Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil®.Pino Posteraro, Executive Chef and owner of Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill, and a frequent presenter at Cornucopia, will be one of ten guest chefs at this exclusive event. In line with his local and sustainable philosophy, Chef Posteraro is working on two mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres to wow Masquerave guests: albacore tuna seared, and sablefish soup, served in potato skin cups (eminently disposable, and of course, edible!)
Chef Posteraro says: “It’s great to be cooking for a good cause, and I’m looking forward to working along side Chef Melissa Craig and enjoying the camaraderie that an event like Masquerave brings. André certainly knows how to throw a great party and he usually has a few surprises up his sleeve.”
The evening will highlight renowned chefs from Vancouver, Montréal and Québec City, while guests will sip from a range of 40 local and international wines and spirits, and celebrate with Moët & Chandon champagne. Entertained by international DJs and live musicians, burlesque-style entertainment, aerials, acrobats, dancers and contortionists, partygoers will be celebrating into the wee hours.
Tickets are priced at $295.00 CAD per person, taxes and service not included. Preferred overnight rates at top Whistler hotels, and a fleet of Infiniti cars available as shuttles, will ensure that guests
get home safely.
