ANGLERS FLOCK TO HARRISON FOR WILDLIFE VIEWING AND STURGEON FISHING

Harrison Hot Springs, BC: Spot the eagles hovering above Harrison Lake as you ride the waves on a jet boat tour. This natural landscape is home to a number of animal species, fish and birds, and where the Fraser Valley bald eagle and the ancient sturgeon reign supreme.

The BC Sport Fishing Group, angling and wildlife viewing experts, offer daily excursions year round. Book a scenic nature and wildlife jet boat adventure on Harrison Lake, or a premium sport fishing trip to catch (and release) a sturgeon on the Fraser River. For the ultimate wildlife adventure opt for a combination of both. From a one-hour to a half-day tour with some of the most experienced and knowledgeable sport fishing guides in the industry, an excursion with this Group is an adrenaline rush.

According to Tony Nootebos, owner of the BC Sport Fishing Group: “The Fraser River has a very strong population of white sturgeon ranging from two to 12 ft in length and reaching weights of over a thousand pounds. They are willing biters and great fighters any time.” Tony adds, “Since sturgeon fishing in British Columbia is catch and release only, we are seeing a great rebound in numbers of sturgeon, with multiple fish days being the norm.” All BC Sport Fishing Group guides scan and tag sturgeon for the Fraser River Sturgeon Conservation Society.

The pristine and natural region of Harrison Lake and the Fraser River sees over 1000 Fraser Valley bald eagle migrate here in search of spawning salmon each winter. Glimpse the eagles chasing their mate, hooking talons and spinning in the air. See slick seals, yellowlegs sandpipers and blue herons delving for food. Swimming alongside the prehistoric sturgeon, find populations of salmon, steelhead and trout; completing nature’s cycle, the eagles eye their prey.
