HARRISON HOT SPRINGS, BRITISH COLUMBIA, June 25, 2015: On Saturday, July 25, the 9th annual Agassiz Farms Cycle Tour takes place, just 1.5 hours' drive from Vancouver. So load up your bikes and head off to the Fraser Valley for this 'al fresco' shopping experience. Pedal from farm to farm to taste, browse and shop. And best of all, a shopping shuttle will collect purchases for pick up at the end of the day.

Firm favourites returning to the tour each year include Farm House Natural Cheese, Tasty Chicken, The Back Porch with Cabin Fever Pies, Pea Shoots, Hammersley Farms with berries, a dairy farm, the UBC Research Centre, Pacific Agricultural Research Centre, and the newly renovated Agassiz Museum. Look out for three new stops on the tour in 2015: Agassiz Community Gardens, Golden Eagle Farms, a land-based coho salmon farm, and Mielle Meadowsan organic vegetable farm also producing kombucha, a herbal tea.

The tour gives a rare chance for families to meet the farmersand their farm animals, and to pick up fresh produce in the spectacular Fraser Valley.  The cycle tour meanders approximately 25km along flat public roadways.  Start and finish your slow cycle any time between 9am-4pm. Please bring cash, as most farmers are unable to accept credit cards. Pedal Sport of Chilliwack has a limited number of bikes to rent and will pump up tires and make minor adjustments at the registration.

The event kicks off at the Agassiz Agricultural Hall, at 6800 Pioneer Ave, Agassiz. A free shuttle collects purchases and delivers them to the finish for pick up by cyclists.

Local support for the event is provided by Prospera Credit Union, Edible Vancouver, Harrison Agassiz Chamber of Commerce, ReMaxNyda Realty and the farmers themselves.

Pre-registration is through the event website:
