Instant Access to Bookings at Richmond Visitor Centres

Richmond, BC, Canada: Whale watching? No problem. Need a room? Right away. For the first time, visitors to Richmond will be able to reserve their accommodation, tours and attractions at the both the Steveston Visitor Centre and the Highway 99 Visitor Centre. Gearing up for the 2010 Winter Olympics, Tourism Richmond has enhanced the visitor services to give travelers instant access from both Visitor Centres to hotel and activity bookings, as well as maps and information.

Through comprehensive counselor training at the Visitor Centres, and technical upgrades, Tourism Richmond has enhanced the visitor experience to a “one stop shop”. Counselors are able to provide information on the 2010 Winter Olympics, make bookings, and give tips and directions.

Ed Gavsie, Tourism Richmond’s Director of Visitor & Member Services is enthusiastic: “We want the visitor’s first experience to be an entirely positive one, where our counselors are able to make bookings, supply Olympic information and generally set visitors up with a BC experience that they’ll remember. Not only as a destination but as the Gateway to BC, we are setting the tone for their whole time in BC.”

Located north of the George Massey Tunnel, as you enter Richmond via Highway 99, approximately 30 minutes’ north of the US/Canada border, the main Visitor Centre for Richmond is the first port of call for many visitors traveling to British Columbia from across the border.
